Ferrari Challenge Europe

Nielsen and Froggatt target 10 wins apiece

Monza – All the titles up for grabs in the Trofeo Pirelli of the Ferrari Challenge Europe have now been awarded. The Trofeo Pirelli went to Nicklas Nielsen of Formula Racing, while Chris Froggatt took the Trofeo Pirelli Am in the 488 Challenge of Ferrari GB-H.R. Owen.

New challenge. However, Nicklas Nielsen is unlikely to want to conclude the season at the Finali Mondiali in Monza with two dull races. The Dane has already won nine times, doing the double in the first round of the season, at Mugello, Brno and Barcelona. For a perfect finish, the 23-year-old, who has already made a brilliant debut in the International GT Open, will be looking for his tenth triumph at the wheel of the 488 Challenge no. 9. Bjorn Grossmann (Octane 126) will be his main rival, joined by Florian Merckx, who only took part in the Spa-Francorchamps round, and is certainly capable of pushing the champion hard.

Targeting a double. Chris Froggatt is also seeking his tenth win of the season. However, the British driver will need a double win to add to the eight he already has in the bag. His main rival on this occasion will be Fabienne Wohlwend (Octane 126), the fastest woman in the Ferrari Challenge, with three victories in 2018, winning at Spa-Francorchamps in Race-2 and in both races at Misano, held at night. Race-1 of the seventh and final round of the Coppa Shell is on Friday at 4.40 pm, while Race-2 is on Saturday at 12.55 pm.
